This article writes about how to use Habitica to build habits and be more productive
my favorite apps of all time Habitica
So Herbita is a habit-tracking app that uses RPG gaming mechanics to make kind of your habit-tracking
It’s just a little bit more fun I’ve been using Habitica for a year maybe two years
it’s made a dramatic impact on how I can drive my habits but also made it more fun less cumbersome and less boring
do you know those things that normally aren’t particularly rewarding to do
I will guide you on how to set it up and how you can use it in your daily life
how it helps you to attract different habits both daily habits and then just habits
and also how you can use the Habitica reward function to kind of give yourself an immediate bit of positive feedback every time
I think Habitica worked well for me when I was a kid like my favorite video games growing up
were games like Pokemon and Final Fantasy Vii all those kinds of games where you essentially have a character
and you go around on like a little story but your character kind of develops and levels up
as you go so as they do things you know the game wants you to do you know like fighting monsters or catching pokemon
and you would level up you would know gain health but then if you didn’t do the right things
and you would lose health and just the whole experience was very rewarding
it makes it into very addictive gameplay because you’re constantly being given things you know
giving like new items and new equipment for your character that kind of thing so

No 1.(short constant feedback)
you know of getting new equipment and stuff which made the game so addictive and so fun
the problem is when we’re trying to know track habits in the real world in our own life a lot of the time the reward is not always obvious to us
normally it’s something where you have to put off like instant gratification you know if that
long-term award in running
The short-term effects of running aren’t particularly obvious you know you’re tired you don’t want to do it but the long-term effects are obviously about your health and your mental health
all that kind of thing so by creating a system you get more positive feedback in the moment
and it just keeps that kind of momentum going it makes it more fun to track so Habitika is available on your phone your tablet and all devices
No 2. (Habitica setup)
this is kind of what it looks like at a glance essentially it’s split into four main sections you have your habits your dailies your to-do’s and your rewards
every day that you log in you get a check-in price you can see up the top there you’ve got my health bar and my experience
click the meditation and you gain some experience studying and master
my craft so you watched some massage videos or some NLP hypnosis stuff or another YouTuber
who does this type of thing and you gain experience and gold as well
if we come down to eating healthy junk food you can plus that and you reached level six which is great
if you minus that you’ll see you lose a bit of health now what happens
if you lose all my health you can see me getting redder and redder
You run out of health so it’s very forgiving in that it’s not going to cost you any money or take anything from you to get there just refill your health and try again
No 3. (Daily task)
you can see these disappear then you’ve got daily tasks you need to accomplish these
do drain your health as well
so if I do laundry which I’ve just done you see it as to the experience and the gold once again and your to-do’s
at any time in any one of these things you can add your tasks and how difficult it is so that’s going to mean how much more experience you get
it is motivating to see some sort of progression through this and what you’re doing is leading into your
character getting a little bit more experience and gold and being able to do more
No 4.(How to create to do)
so these are one-off tasks for you to use so submit assignments you can add some notes in there
Then let’s pop it as a medium and here new checklist entry so other little things that you need to do to be able to do
that but if you want to create that now it comes up there and so when you complete that
You don’t have any more to-do’s and then of course your rewards so what are you aiming for with this
so you can’t buy anything here at the moment you can buy that one there we go along with that too
you’ve got your stats for everything you’ve done and your achievements so create the first task
No 5.(market)
where you’ve just got more items and stuff to purchase for your character
the question is so you can see where you got a quest going you can buy
that quest and they’ll offer different experience points and stuff as well
so it makes it a lot of fun being able to go through the habits and you make
all your own you can modify them

if we go back to tasks and habits you can edit
it meditation you can save delete you can go easy it’s trivial daily weekly or monthly everything
You can even delete it if want to and if want to process
the email the same thing can just title it
something else or anytime can add a new one
so it is a great app that allows you to do all that
Then you’ve got equipment so items you have pets and mounts
equipment that you own that you can customize your avatar customization
and it allows you to do that right at the start when first open the app Also
then you can purchase gems so go on those quests and stuff or there is a subscription
subscription offers a little bit of gems or whatever
you can earn hourglasses and all little trivial things now it’s 6.99 a month
it’s not too expensive or other options there as you can see but you don’t need to this app
