(10 biggest story changes in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth)
Final Fantasy 7 rebirth there was little doubt in anyone’s mind that the game would make some pretty significant changes to the original
Final Fantasy 7 is based on how the Remake trilogy’s first game did things and sure enough rebirth does make a lot of very notable changes to the larger story beats of the original game
and large preserved but there are several additions changes expansions and what have you on top of that with the result being something that feels like it’s treading its path from
the story changes to the lore being further fleshed out in some sections from how some characters are introduced to Major new events
that happen to others there are plenty of instances throughout Final Fantasy 7 rebirth where it diverges from the prescribed path
we’re going to speak about some of the biggest ones there are Major for Final Fantasy 7 rebirth
No.1(The Multiverse)
let’s start with the biggest and most obvious changes to the story
which is the confirmation that the story does indeed now Encompass multiple different timelines
Zach’s surprise survival at the end of the remake very strongly hinted at that but Rebirth has now outright confirmed it with Seero revealing to Cloud
the others that when they defeated the Whispers at the end of the first game they inadvertently CAU caused the creation of many different worlds
where things aren’t necessarily panning out in a way that you might be familiar
No.2 (Reunion)
the existence of the Final Fantasy 7 Multiverse brings plenty of other major changes with it like Seo’s overarching plans
which are now so much more elaborate than they were even in the original game which is certainly saying something about the destruction of the plan
the meteor spell and Revival of Groove are still high priorities for SEO but even higher on that list is bringing all the alternate realities
over all of them rather than just a single version of the planet lending an entirely new meaning to reunion
No.3 (Zack)
the Final Fantasy 7 Multiverse also brings with it a timeline in which Zach managed to survive
as you’d imagine things are wildly different in this world from what fans of Final Fantasy 7 might be used to cloud is poisoned and unconscious Aerith is in a coma bigs is alive Barrett Tifa and Red 13 are dead and Zach,
of course, he is at the center of it all, and by the time the game comes
to a close having discovered that there are other worlds Beyond
If he decides that he’s going to try and find a way back to Cloud how exactly will that play out in part three well that remains to be seen
No.4 (Aerith)
the big changes that many expected Final Fantasy 7 rebirth to make to A’s story haven’t been made she still dies at the Forgotten Capital at Sophos hands
though the game does make some changes around that nonetheless
the original game certainly implied that Aerith had a part to play in using the
white material even after her death in the rebirth that’s much more overt her spirit lingers on
she’s able to fully converse with Cloud even in this form even if no one else in the party can see her though 13 seems to be at least faintly aware of her presence
No.5 (The GI)
the Gi had a very tiny role to play in the original Final Fantasy 7
one that in the grand scheme of things was almost insignificant in rebirth they take on a significantly expanded role after landing on the planet thousands of years ago
An extraterrestrial tribe known as the Gi fought against the Cetra and during that conflict,
they were the ones who created the black Materia by pouring all of their hate and Malice into a single concentrated orb with the Gi not being of this planet upon their death
they were unable to return to the Live stream and their intention is now to use the black Materia so they can destroy the earth with a meteor which in turn will finally free them of their endless purgatory
No.6 (Yuffie and CIDs intro)
originally an optional character
In Final Fantasy 7 in Rebirth yui is a full-fledged member of the main cast which comes as no surprise after episode intermission with her taking on a larger role the way she’s introduced is also different the party first meets June
when she tries and intends to assassinate Rufus Shinra during the parade something that she certainly attempts to do but not quite successfully following that she continues to drop in and out of the story before finally joining the party in Cadil Soul
similarly, Sid’s introduction has been changed as well in the original Final Fantasy 7
the party travelled to Rocket Town after meeting Vincent Valentine in Nibble Heim and it was there that they met with the pilot and engineer
Sid High Wind joined the ranks with the party after butting heads with Rufus Shinra over the canning of his coveted Space Program in rebirth
meanwhile, Sid enters a little earlier this time as a four h higher pilot who flies the party from Gungaga to Nibelheim
No.7 (tifa and the lifestream)
though it was an optional area in the Original Final Fantasy 7 in Rebirth Gonzaga is a much larger and more baked-in part of the main story
which in turn brings several changes one of the biggest ones is what happens with Tifa Cloud under the effects of Sephos influence
his cellular degradation attacks Tifa and throws her into a pole of Mo in the destroyed Gungaga reactor believing
the real Tia to be long dead and her to be an impostor upon falling into the pool she is swallowed whole by a weapon after which she finds herself in the live stream
where not only does she witness several memories of her past but also sees different Whispers battling against each other
with many even attacking the weapons at the end of it all the weapon breaches above the surface of the moo pool again letting Tia who is still alive leave
No.8 (Glenn Lodbrook)
you’d be forgiven for having no idea who Glenn L Brock is seeing as he’s only ever appeared in the mobile game Final Fantasy 7
Crisis and free-to-to-play mobile Battle Royale game given that it’s surprising how big
his role in Rebirth is he is now the leader of the Wuai government but behind the scenes,
he’s in cahoots with Rufus Shinra and together they’re trying to spark another war between Shinra and Wuai
they succeed in doing that of course while right at the end of the game
it’s also revealed that not only is L Brock one of Seph Ro’s minions but he also has powers that no one other than Seph O has like being able to possess
the black robe Sethro clones scattered throughout the world we’re going to have
to wait until the third game to find out how exactly he’s able to do that
No.9 (Roche)
Roche was one of Final Fantasy 7 remakes’ more prominent new additions and of course,
he continues to have a role to play in rebirth as well by definition everything that happens to and around him is entirely new to the story
there are a couple of boss fights against him and rebirth that didn’t exist in the original game
while later on in the story he also voluntarily agrees to become a Seph clone by the end of the game he’s in a very different I.E much
worse shape than we’ve usually seen him in he’s not riding his bike around anymore we can tell you that much
No.10 (Cissnei)
Cissnei fans of Crisis Corp will be very familiar with Cissnie as a character and now she’s been integrated into the main Final Fantasy 7
the story as well this is another one of those changes to the story that we see in Gungaga with Syney having been assigned to the region
where she’s gone on to become something of a caretaker for the locals
as the leader of the Gungaga Youth Coalition obviously
unlike the other stuff we’ve talked about in this feature
Cissnie’s addition isn’t as intrinsically tied to the main story
as its most crucial beats but she still does end up being a pretty prominent
secondary character while you’re in the Gungaga region
(10 big questions final fantasy 7 rebirth)
Final Fantasy 7 rebirth comes to an end even though it answers a lot of questions raised in the remake
it raises just as many if not more for things yet to come in the remake’s trilogy conclusion
as this new tale continues to expand and change more and more questions about where it’s headed
how it will end become a much more prominent rebirth does an excellent job of tantalizingly
teasing you with these questions some of the biggest mysteries that are
left lingering after the Final Fantasy 7 rebirth story
Que no.1( Is Sephiroth from the future)
this is something that fans have been asking since the Final Fantasy 7 remake
first came out and though we still don’t have a definitive answer
it is certainly becoming increasingly obvious throughout the two games and especially in Rebirth in particular
Sephiroth is shown to be very much aware of the events of the original Final Fantasy 7
while in rebirth he also knows about the Multiverse existence
even having manipulated Cloud and Co into defeating the whispers in the remake
so what does that tell us about Sephiroth and the nature of his very existence based on everything
that we’ve seen of him in the remake trilogy so far it does seem like
this is perhaps a post-Advent Children version of the character
who managed to find his way back to the beginning of the original game’s
events and started messing with time to try and change his fate after
he’s made it abundantly clear on no few occasions by now that he wants to defy Destiny
so it stands to reason that he knows what Destiny it is exactly that he’s defying
Que no.2 (Will Zack survive)
seeing Zack fair at the end of the Final Fantasy 7 remake was a big shock and seeing him survive the Fateful Encounter
that ends in his death was an even bigger one in rebirth it is revealed that by defeating the Whispers
The Party inadvertently causes the creation of multiple different timelines including the one where we see
Zach is still alive and heading to Midgar with an MCO poison Cloud throughout the game
he continues to have an important role to play even briefly overlapping with the main timeline to fight against-sephiroth side by side with the cloud and in the aftermath
it’s clear that his goal is to find a way to join his world with the main timeline but is Zach going to come out of this whole thing alive a big theme in the Final Fantasy 7
remakes Trilogy so far is that one way or another no matter how hard you try Destiny cannot be defied characters have
one way or another ended up meeting their Fates the way that they were supposed to in Zach’s timeline big survived the fall of sector 7
but eventually ended up dying anyway in the remake wedge survived longer than he did in the original FF7 but was still eventually pushed to his death
zacks attempt
by The Whispers And of course, at the end of rebirth, Cloud tries his most damn to save Aerith
for a brief moment, it even looks like he succeeded but she too ends up dying at Seo’s hand just as she would be always supposed to so are Zack’s attempts at finding
way to avoid his death being futile in its final Act rebirth shows us two different offshoots of Zacks’s main timeline
one where he tries to get a cure for the cloud from Shinra headquarters
and one where he attempts to stop Bigs from blowing up the reactor
in both timelines, he’s gunned down by a squad of Shinra troops
exactly as he was at the end of Crisis
Core is the game’s way of telling us that no matter
what happens one way or another that’s Zach’s story will always end
Que no.3 ( what will happen to the versions of Aerith and Cloud in Zack’s timeline )
Zack is in his world literally for much of Final Fantasy 7 rebirth but he does have some familiar faces
around him of course in addition to the likes of bigs Marlene Almyra Zack’s
the story also ropes in versions of Aerith and Cloud
who belong to that timeline neither is in great shape,
to say the least with AIS being in a coma after the avalanche’s failed escape attempt at Midgar and Cloud
being heavily MCO poisoned and z out of his mind so what exactly will become of these two in
particular are both of them going to die or is Zack going to indeed try to join both timelines
the way that rebirth endings seem to imply that are there just going to be two clouds
will Zach’s version of Aerith end up dying because she died in the main timeline
will conversely end up being how Aerith returns to the original timeline speaking of which
Que no.4 ( Can Aerith be brought back)
whether or not Aerith would still die in Final Fantasy 7 rebirth was one of our biggest questions
heading into the game and though we do now know that she
died similarly to how she died in the original game
there also seem to be hints that perhaps she’s not permanently gone for starters
we do see her spirit not only lingering on but even having entire conversations with Cloud promising him
that she will stay behind in the Forgotten Capital to try and stop Meteor
sure you might dismiss that as more moo adult hallucinations drummed up by Cloud’s
increasingly deteriorating mental State since no one else in the party
can see her but Red 13 does very faintly sense her presence
So maybe Cloud isn’t going crazy in this particular case more on this in a bit
so does that mean there’s still a way to bring Aerith back at the very least even
if she does remain dead it seems like she’ll have more of a role to play albeit in spirit form in the trilogy’s
third part than she did in that part of the original game story but could the party try and bring her back
as well will Zack have a say in that will the Multiverse
its different timelines and the many different versions of
Aerith who is still alive ends up being the way out of death
for that character or will the lesson once again be that Destiny cannot be defied
even if Aerith does manage to have a larger presence following
her death than she did in the original game she is still going to remain conclusively dead
Que no.5 ( how did Sephiroth gain control of the Whispers)
The Whispers were Final Fantasy 7 remakes big main twist to a familiar story
and though they return in rebirth they do so in a different capacity originally described as mysterious
beings who want to ensure that everything happens in the manner
that was prescribed in rebirth Sephiroth has gained control over them
the faction of them at any rate being outright summoned by sephiroth from time to time the black Whisperers
seem to be answering him now multiple times
we also see them going up against new white versions of The Whispers
the question or one of them at least is how exactly did Sephiroth manage to gain
control of the black Whispers in the first
he very clearly did not align with what
their ultimate goal was he constantly prodded Cloud into defying Destiny and pulled the strings
so that the party would defeat them are we to assume that after their defeat
The Whispers in their weakened State fell under Sephiroth’s influence and now do his bidding also what is going on with those white Whispers
Que no.6 (who controls the white whispers)
Final Fantasy 7 rebirth we’re introduced to a white Whispers after Tifa falls into the live stream she Witnesses
the weapons come under attack from sephiroth Whispers only for white lustrous variants of The Whispers to come streaming in and start battling against
the black counterparts to protect them from that point forward the white Whisperers show up several more times
at crucial points in the story each time showing up to fight against the regular black Whispers for starts
where do they come from second who controls them are they in service only to the planet and the Liv stream or are they perhaps controlled by Aerith as the game strong
implies and multiple times throughout the party’s
the multi-stage final boss fight against Sephiroth where we see the white Whisperers seemingly doing bidding perhaps they’re Whispers from a different timeline
Que no.7 ( why can only clouds see Aerith and the sky rifts)
Final Fantasy 7 rebirth comes to a close thanks to a double whammy of Sephiroth’s corrupting influence and Cloud’s degradation
so when he is the only one in the entire party who can see a Spirit after her death
and also see the Great Rift in the sky the game wants us to wonder whether he’s just continuing to lose his grip on reality
thanks to Zack’s side of the story however we know without a doubt that the rift in the sky is very real while Red 13 is able to sort of sense
Aerith’s Presence at the end suggests that she isn’t just a hallucination either but why is it that Cloud is the only one
who can see these things is it because of the connection to Sephiroth is it because now that he’s traveled
through the timelines, he’s now capable being able to see things that weren’t visible to him before sort of how nobody in the remake could see
The Whispers until they came into contact with Aerith or perhaps there’s some other answer to this question that we can’t even begin to guess at yet
Que no.8 ( what happened with the GI)
just as in the original game in FF7 Rebirth upon entering Cosmo Canyon cloud
and Co accompany Red 13 and Bugenhagen into the place
where the spirits of the ancient extraterrestrial tribe known as
the GI are locked away and just like the original game
this is where we learn about Red 13’s father and the sacrifice
that he made to protect the people of Cosmo Canyon
but as opposed to the original in Rebirth that’s just a fraction of what we find out thanks to the new
revelation that the black material was built by the GI
as part of their conflict, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth does an excellent job
fleshing out this conflict which had next to no role to play
in the original game story and gives us both sides of
this perspective in Cosmo Canyon we know how they were portrayed while in the Forgotten City
we hear from the Ancients about how the GI created the black material with the most destructive of intentions
which side of the story is the more accurate version of the truth and on top of that exactly
how is the deal that Cloud strikes
with the GI going to come back to bite him in the future because
there’s no way that the GI is going to be happy when
they find out that Cloud never had any intention of giving them the black Materia
Que no.9 ( what role will the GI play in part 3 )
the GI tribe had a much larger part to play in Final Fantasy 7 rebirth story
than it did in the original game
it’s looking like something of a guarantee that this will continue to be
the case in part three as well after all they’re the creators of the black Materia
which means they’re inherently much more important to the lore in the remake Trilogy
cloud and Co also lied to Zack’s face when they told him that they would bring the black material
back to him in the tribe something they have no intention of doing given the fact that the GI wants to destroy
the planet so what exactly is that going to lead to in the third game that the GI will return is looking like a sure bet
it also seems safe to assume that they’re going to be at the party to say the very least they’re going to continue
their hunt for the black Materia so given that their goals are more or less aligned
with what Sephiroth wants to do are we headed to A Deadly Alliance between them
Que no.10 ( will we fight the weapons )
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth introduces these massive creatures created by the planet
itself to protect it sensing that such a danger is looming on the horizon at this point
in the remake trilogy, some of them have awakened and at several points
in the story they have an important role to play
that they return in the third game is obvious but will they end up
playing the same role they did in the original game in the original
thanks to a magical barrier erected by Sephiroth they are unable to sense
his presence and instead go on a rampage targeting locations with the highest Mao concentrations
which of course happen to be densely populated Urban hubs
like Midgar and Juan to stop them clouded companies end up having to take them on in battle
defeat them given how epic boss fights against them would be if properly realized in the remix Trilogy
the developer might not want to change their role too much
but perhaps towards the end of the story instead of being destroyed
they might work against Sephiroth just as an example if the GI does indeed
end up allying with Sephiroth maybe they could help even the odds for the good guys
I?¦ve learn a few just right stuff here. Certainly value bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how so much attempt you place to make any such great informative site.
